Couldn’t start my day as normal, at the gym, as had to get to Middlesborough early. As it turned out due to traffic I was late to the audit.
Being honest this first challenge of 2008 has been a struggle in that the most important component clean eating hasn’t gone very well. My food intake was [...]

Sunday and Monday we nipped down to London to see my children’s grandparents. The journey down was supplemented by junk food but we ate well when we arrived. Saw my youngest brother who didn’t look so good. My Dad has a rash which he says is a punishment. The grandparents were visited by the chiropodist [...]

At least I think its shoulders today. Started by picking up my dear girlfriend, who because of an eye problem can’t drive at the moment, so we could both do a workout at the gym. She did her own thing whilst I got seriously out of breath spinning. The classes are filling up quickly so [...]

My workout was a bit subdued today as I’m concerned that I’ve got the bulk without the benefits, i.e. strength and endurance.
10 minutes treadmill and dynamic stretches.
Dumbbell overhead lunges (each side) 2 x 10kg x 3 sets x 10 reps; Dumbbell squats 2 x 34kg x 3 sets x 10 reps; Dumbbell deadlifts 2 x [...]

Workout
10 mins treadmill plus dynamic stretches
One-arm lat pulldown 3 sets x 10 reps x 25kg, [...]

What should my blood pressure be?
“140/90mmHg is the level of blood pressure used to diagnose high blood pressure. If your blood pressure is consistently raised at these levels and above, it will need to be treated. Treatment may involve making changes to your lifestyle and/or taking medication. This level of 140/90 mmHg is the level [...]

Found this on the menshealth.com site. I hurt my elbow doing my back and biceps workout routine or rather it was sore and prevented me from finishing I’d love to be able to do more pullups and I thought also that maybe I should be concentrating on bodyweight moves rather than pumping iron, if I’m [...]

I’ve not got many cheats left in the clean eating part of the challenge so best get focused.
At lunchtime – 10 mins treadmill @ 11.2kph plus dynamic stretches
For my chest and triceps I did: Dumbbell bench press 2 x 28kg x 3 sets x 10 reps; Dumbbell flyes 2 x 16kg x 3 sets x [...]

After reading Paul McKenna’s book I’ve now bought his 90 day journal to record my progress using his plan to get slim. Yesterday wasn’t that good towards the end so let’s review his golden rules and put them into practice:
1. When you are hungry, EAT
2. EAT WHAT YOU WANT, not what you think you should
3. [...]
